KE•KA•KO
This is a new style of evangelisation focussing on
- Apostolic Preaching (Kerygma),
- Spiritual gifts/ graces (Charisma) and
- warm Christian Fellowship (Koinonia).
(The initials alliterated when transcribed from Greek into Spanish!).
Amongst its key ideas are:
- the necessity of keeping all aspects of Kerygma, Charisma and Koinonia together for authentic evangelisation;
- a three step structure – evangelisation, forming evangelisers and forming the formators of evangelisers;
- multiplication of faith-filled communities;
- PEPSI: PErmanent, Progressive, Systematic and Integral schools
It has developed out of kerygmatic schools of evangelisation which began in Mexico in the early 1980s through the collaboration of a Catholic layman, José H. Prado Flores and Pentecostal Pastor, William Finke. Later Father Emiliano Tardiff worked with Prado Flores in the establishment of the methodologies and styles of these schools, he added especially the charismatic character to this courses. The publication of the influential book Jesús está vivo and the development of the Siervos de Cristo Vivo community was around that time.
Father Ricardo was working close with Prado Flores and Father Tardif in the late 80ies and early 90ies and added the community (koinonia) aspect to the methodology. 1994 KeKaKo as a slogan for the methodology of the evangelisation schools was born and reused all over the world since. Father Ricardo has established an evangelisation school in Italy and later in Czech Republic based on KeKaKo. Today Koinonia Giovanni Battista has their own courses held all over Europe, North, Central and South America, India and Africa.
