Israel 2008 – Pastor’s Retreat

Jerusalem

In June all Pastors’ and Coordinators’ of Koinonia John the Baptist from all over the world were gathering together for a time of prayer and pilgrimage in the Holy Land and the City of the Great King, where the roots of Christianity lay.

Koinonia has a Reality in Israel working close with local Franciscans and also Messianic Jews, which believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, but live the Jewish tradition, just as the first Christians. As the roots of Christianity are laid in the Old Testament and the descendants of Jacob (Israel), with all their tradition, we can learn a lot from them, even today – and especially today.

We all came back in to our Realities enriched with the blessings of Jerusalem – the City of God.

New HOPe

I am happy to announce that we have a new House of Prayer (HOPe) in Oxford which is at the house of Przemek and Aneta.

Przemek and Aneta have been faithful visiting our house of prayer for over one year and now after becaming members of Koinonia John the Baptist they have started a new ministry, which has already shown fruits with three new people visiting their HOPe.

I am also very happy that Przemek and Aneta are receiving support from Dominika who will also carry this ministry as a new Koinonia member.

Happy birthday HOPe No. 2 ! (Born on 13th May 2008)

Pentecost 2008

Pentecost 2008 was a special time for us. Firstly, Pentecost is the time, where we celebrate the coming of Holy Spirit 2000 years ago, as well as every day since to all those who believe in Jesus, the Christ.

Secondly, seven members of Oxford’s House of Prayer, became members of Koinonia John the Baptist for a period of one year and Elizabeth prolonged her membership for another three years.

This were indeed good reasons to celebrate.

Pentecost Mass 2008

Father Jan is now a frequent guest at the polish parish in Oxford. Father Krzysztof Pajak has again invited father Jan to celebrate the holy mass while he is visiting Oxford – and it was a blessed time to all of us. See yourself:

Easter 2008

1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! 2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

(Psalm 133)

And the Word became flesh this Easter. Our HOPe met to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Prayer, agape – just being together.
